constant 5 volts output from compact daq 6008

Hi, I am trying to control an altivar 31 vsd using the compact daq 6008. I am using ao/o and gnd. on the daq and aI/1 and com. on the vsd. When I turn on I get a constant 5v that wont vary. I think it is a grounding issue, anyone have this problem?

Hello Deck65,

Could you confirm that it is your 6008 that is producing the constant 5V? If so how are you changing the output voltage of your 6008?

Could you try changing the output voltage using MAX and record the voltage using a multimeter.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Phil

Hows things,

I'm trying to use the USB-6008 to generate a voltage signal (digital or analog) to control a relay but when i measured the voltage from the port it was only outputing 1 Volt, I would be very greatful if you could tell me ow to vary this as i need a bit more power. I tested it on NI max and it powered the relay with 5V so it worked. But in the VI it will only give 1V

Thanks

Chritopher,
