I use LV8.5.1, my version doesn't allow user to select between "excel 97-2003" formal (xls) and "excel 2007"; it's just "excel". I don't know whether LV2009 allows user to do so...

Anyway, Office 2007 can open "old" xls file: xlsx will only lose retro-compatibility with old excel versions...

Hey King Rio,

I am a little unsure what it is you are trying to accomplish. Are you looking to take an image of the front panel and paste it into excel? Are you looking to create a table of information in LabVIEW and input that into Excel? Are you trying to input data or an image from LabVIEW into an already existing Excel document?

As xdaf had mentioned, you can create .xls spreadsheet files and they will be able to open just fine (in compatibility mode) in Excel.

Perhaps a little more detail on what it is you are actually trying to accomplish would be helpful.

Hope this helps.

Hey King Rio,

See below for an example of how you might go about inserting an image of your front panel into an Excel document. You may want to do a little more formatting of your image, as this example simply puts the front panel image in the upper left hand corner of the first workbook in your Excel document.
