how to read Siemens PLC bit from through gateway?

hi friends,

i have project which reads siemens PLC bit and it is working fine,

is it possible to make this project on other PC is is connected to LAN network of our I.T depart and PLC and also connected to LAN network of same our I.T depart. mean you can say PLC is at other location and PC is at other location. 

in this condition how can i configur OPC, because in OPC only IP of PLC need to configure?

Hi Asif,

I believe that as long as your computer can ping the PLC, you should be fine. Is this the case?

i can ping PLC ( IP:12.0.0.2) from my PC (IP:192.168.20.31) but shared variable error. 

Any clue?

Hi,

What is the error you are getting? If you can ping your PLC, I believe you shouldn't have any trouble using our NI OPC Server software to hosts your tags and read them through shared variables.
