interfacing playstation 2 joystick with LabView 8.6.1

Solved!

Hello,

I'm trying to interface a Playstation 2 joystick using this adapter

http://www.ebay.it/itm/New-Dual-PlayStation-2-USB-for-PS-2-PS2-PS3-Convertor-Adapter-/111182867243?p...

with LabVIEW 8.6.1, without no results ...

My system is running

LabVIEW 8.6.1

MAX 4.5

VISA 5.0.3

I've installed the factory driver for adapter, and it appears in device manager, as HID interface, but in MAX is listed only the Software item.

Someone can help me ?

Thanks in advance

Eugenio

Hi uge,

what do you expect in MAX when that device installs as HID component? You also don't expect to see your keyboard or mouse visible in MAX device tree!

As I didn't read the manual of that device: when it installs as HID device you may be able to read it's input using the LV functions for keyboard/joystick access…

Best regards,
GerdW

Thanks for the answer,

tried to use the standard functions to read the controller. Used Query Input Devices.vi, and found out 2 controllers for joystick, but labview sees only 12 buttons on 15. Nothing more, I'm not able to communicate with the joystick.

Any idea ?
