modbus installation error

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello, I'm using Labview 8.6.

When I download (nimodbus.zip from http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4756 ) and try to install the NI Modbus user lib, I get an error "LabVIEW Base Development System 7.1 is not installed!"

Shall I download and install the "LabVIEW Base Development System 7.1" (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/604/lang/en)?

But I have installed Labview 8.6 !! Is this a problem?

Just had the same Q yesterday.

Try the linker higher on that page. the "exe" version. It is a self-extracting zip that does the install.

Hi Ben,

thanks for your response 🙂

If I use the "exe" version, will I get the same modbus VIs (same name?) as from the "msi" version?

This is important for me, because I'm using the msi version and the guy who has the installation problem wants to use my Labview source code...

Now it's possible to download a .zip file from

http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4756

and copy the files to the according folders.(without any .exe or .msi file)

Now it works.
