Today ,a real-time box in our lab didnot work. I used this station on Tuesday of this week and a 6024E in the real-time box to run the a control on a DC brush motor. The real time box has a dedicated VI in it for your undergraduate controls lab. Did I mess anything up by loading another real-time application? I deployed the application, I did not FTP it. Today, the host (Windows box) box would not communicate with the real-time box. Every time I send a command (such as “turn on amp”) nothing happens and eventually the communication times out. Using the Measurements and Automation Explorer, I was able to find the real-time box, however I was not able to find the two DAQ cards in the unit. I could issue the command to reboot and it did. I played with it for a 30 minutes, but talking to the box never worked.

What model is your real-time box (What is the PXI controller)? You can only have one application running at one time, you have to redeploy your old application, but that doesn't seem like the problem. It seems like the DAQ drivers somehow got corrupted if you are unable to see your DAQ cards. You may need to format the PXI controller and relaod the software on it by right clicking of software and selecting "Add/Remove"
