My very first computer was a Sinclair 1000.  Brings back memories.  You had to use a casette recorder to store and retrieve your programs.  I used an old black and white portable TV as a monitor.  It had 1K of memory with an expansion slot to hold a 16K memory module.  I remember thinking that I would never use 16K.  But I obtained a pin out of the expansion slot and designed my own parallel port.  First of its kind since there was not one available on the market at that time.  I guess I'm showing how old I am.

I had one of those.  It had those plastic membrane keys that weren't real keys, didn't it?  And I remember each key had an alternate graphics block to it like different checkerboard patterns.

I have heard the word "Kudos" too many times in here that it is starting to sound funny!! 🙂 Is it just me? Like when you say the word "bowl" too many times at a stretch, it sounds like something else. hehe

I started of on a 16k Spectrum, later upgraded to the C64. The basic programming on the Spectrum was fun as any of the rubber keys had like 5 functions, so pressing 'P' at the beginning of a line automatically typed 'Print', in an attemt of sorts to have the readability of basic but as few keyboard presses as assembler.

Ha, youve got to love it. I have spent the past 2 weeks on here helping a guy out with a project without the faintest hint of a Kudos and then i recieve 2 for taking the mick out of someone for getting 14 kudos's for answering 'What is a Kudos'. Perhaps i should direct the guy im helping to this post??

I wish i could join in the conversation about old computers but im only 31, so way to young for that

I did used to love the sound of my Spectrum Sinclair loading Barbarian, should bring it out on itunes so i can listen to it again.
