what is kudos?

Solved!

I thought "Kudos Given" is only visible to the owner of the profile. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Where did you get the information? Are you adding things manually from the kudos pages? The number there is how many kudos you received from that member, not how many he globally handed out to all users.

Maybe I am confused.....

If this is unintentional a forum upgrade is needed

If there are so few given it is easy to go through the four pages and simply count them.

I too noticed this a long time ago. I just assumed he has a very high standard. My threshold is different depending on the user. If it is a new user with a very low number of posts it is lower. I really like to give someone their first kudo. I remember how good it felt when I got my first one and how much better it felt to get my first kudo from a knight.

Oh, almost forgot. Almost 7000 with the highest number for a single post is a very impressive metric!

I'm (again ) assuming nothing.  But, my curiosity was peaked and the PM feature doesn't handle profiles with multiple name matches well- Or it would have been a private inquiry.

I guessed correctly what Jeff was referring to and the sample size I referred to was one user, not a number of kudos. Do I use LVOOP often? No. Because it is evil? No, I have been using LV long before LVOOP came along and most of the problems it helps solve I had already solved. Likewise, some users have been around long before Kudos and perhaps haven't felt the need to adapt. To each their own.

As to counting manually, not hard in this case. As usual, most of the stats visible only to yourself aren't private, just hard for others to figure out.

A couple of hundred numbers over many pages, less with stingy kudosers... 😉

I did not say it should be secret, but I was wondering if the final tally is listed somewhere because I did not see it. I guess the answer is no. 😉

It would be easy to write a VI that automates the counting 🙂

I wonder why we can't see how many Solutions someone has gotten? Why keep that completely private? I have suggested it before in another forum. I have 53 solutions but have posted 1730 things. Maybe I should keep my mouth shut Smiley Embarassed

And yet again,

I did NOT mean to start a flame war- just wanted the straight dope.

@ BA- unless you ARE Darrin or Christian or...(you get the idea) your "Solutions/post" metric is quite remarkable. mine is merely a little over 4% and our stats are well above the median.  Don't get hung up about it- IMHO your contributions are on point.

Some people just outshine the rest of us.  Can't fault them either!Smiley WinkSmiley Happy
