DaveT,
I see the same effect on my Mac.
Clicking the Use Current Panel Size button on the Window Run-Time Position page of the VI properties dialog seems to cure it.
Then I tried several combinations of panel size settings on that page and the Window Size page. Now I cannot get the problem to come back.
So it appears to be some kind of interaction among those settings.

Lynn,
Thanks for verifying it. I agree that it's related to some combination of window settings. I found a few of those earlier, as posted above. I hadn't tried the Use Current Panel Size fix. That does seem to help. Thanks!
I suspect that this could be a bizarre inheritance from when a LV 2012 VI with certain things set into LV 2013, which is probably why more people aren't noticing it.

Dave,
What things? I really hate to belabor you but, there seems to be a CAR needed. And, I'm always happy to be learning new tricks.

Although I didn't find this when I was first posting, I've now found an older thread discussing this same behavior:
http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/LabVIEW-2013-Window-Appearance/td-p/2578039
I'll post another cross-link there to this thread.

This is a known issue which NI is aware of. Currently, there are two workarounds:
1) Change Window Size»Minimum Panel Size Width and Height to 0,0.
2) Check "Use Current Panel Size" box under "Window Run-Time Position."
Hope that helps!

Ryan,
Just wondering if this ever got fixed?

Ian,
I was able to reproduce this behavior in LabVIEW 2015, so I don't believe that it has been fixed, but R&D is still aware of the issue. It seems that setting the minimum front panel size in the VI properties is an easy workaround.
