App built with CVI2010 failed to installed in Windows8 tablet

We created our application with Labwindows CVI2010 and it worked well under WindowsXP and Windows7.

We tried to install it in a Windows 8 pro tablet but installation was hung and then exited.

Is there any solution for this problem?

Thanks

Hi HenryMaritime,

Unfortunately, the CVI 2010 runtime engine is not compatible with Windows 8. Since the run-time engine is required to run executables built in CVI, you aren’t going to be able to run your application on Windows 8. That is most likely why the installation is failing.

Here is a document that lists the earliest versions of all NI software that will work with Windows 8:

http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14281/en/

The earliest version of CVI/CVI run-time that will work with Windows 8 is 2012.

As long as the tablet has Windows 8 Pro (not Windows 8 RT), an application built in CVI 2012 or later should install and run the same on the tablet as it would on a PC.
