Debugging a CVI project in CVI2015

Hello

I have a working Teststand 2014 project with CVI 2015 source code. Now ik had to make some changes to this CVI project.

When i build the project again everything builds fine. When i want to debug a function and stepinto that function it looks like a debug other code then what i see (verry strange). For instance i get a RS232 communication error declaring a variable ??

Then i cleaned the project and build it again but that doesn't do the trick. Maybe there is old debug info from the version before the change somewhere.

Does anyone know what is wrong ?

Hi Tonnie,

I hope the issue is now resolved, but in case it isn't, I took a look through the known issues section of the LabWindows CVI 2015, and saw that there are a couple of issues related to the single stepping functions which I believe may be related to your issue:

  • Stepping over a function call located at the last line in the enclosing lexical scope causes a Step Into instead of a Step Over.
  • The Interactive Execution window does not allow stepping into the main function of a project.

I haven't fully understood the behaviour you are seeing, but it may help to look through the list of known issues to see if it is listed. If the issue is listed I suggest looking at the readme files (found on the download page) of later versions of CVI to see if this bug has been resolved.

If the behaviour you see isn't described here, please would you let me know in more detail exactly what the behaviour is and under what conditions.

Many thanks,

Alice
