Look for a network device in unreachable net ?

Hi,

we are developing electronic devices that use the lantronix xport for tcp/ip
connection. I now want to write a programm that looks for a specific xport
device (identified through the mac-address) in the network. I know that i
can send a broadcast command within our network to find the xport. But
sometimes the xport is set to an ip that is not within our network-area. For
example: our network is set to 194.164.16.xxx and the Lantronix device may
have an adress like 172.169.14.72. With the help of the Lantronix Device
installer software i can search and find this xport in the network as
unrechable.
Does anyone can tell me how it is possible to find the xport device (or any
other network device) that has an other ip area then our home-network?

Thanks

Norbert

Hey Norbert.

There is a possibility to change Xports IP if you know its MAC
address.

Look in to the Xport documentation, or contact me for more info.
