Hi all,
we have 3 licenses for CVI 2015 in use. Now we need a 4th license.
Can I buy a license for a current version of CVI and use it with CVI 2015?
Or do I need to buy a license especially for CVI 2015? Is this still possible?
Upgrading our 3 licenses to the current CVI is not an option. At least not now.
Regards

If you bought a perpetual license in the past you could always also use it with older versions. The current problem might be that I'm not sure you can buy a perpetual license for LabWindows/CVI at this time. They changed to software leases begin 2022 for all their software and discontinued selling perpetual licenses. They came back on that this year and starting next week will officially sell perpetual licenses again for LabVIEW and TestStand, albeit at a significantly higher price point than what it was before the perpetual licenses were discontinued. Partly this is because of inflation which has been significant in those almost 3 years but partly it seems to me also a bit of a money grab.
The current status of LabWindows/CVI being in more or less abandon mode, not officially killed yet but more or less left to softly die, they haven't introduced perpetual licenses for it so far and never might. You'll have to talk with someone from NI sales. If you decide to buy a software lease license, you would have to keep paying for it every year in order to be able to use it. But it also allows you to use earlier versions.

Hi @Urs_Weder.
You can use development licenses that you buy from NI on any version of the product that is the current version or older. So you can buy a 4th CVI license and use it to activate and use CVI 2015.

Hi Eric,
thanks for Your information.
But, I don't want to jump the subscription bandwagon.
