UI editor status issue

Hello,

I made the following observation when using the UI editor (CVI2015):

Let's say I have a panel and a LED control (it's the same behavior for other controls). If no control is selected the status line of the UI editor shows PANEL (and in the next field the size of the panel).

If I click on the LED, the name (constant) of the LED is indicated in the status line of the UI editor, for example, the status now says PANEL_LED (and the position of the control next to it).

Now I double click on the LED to check/edit some values, and then I leave this popup panel using either OK or Cancel. The control is still selected, but now the status line of the UI editor does not show the constant name of the selected control anymore but PANEL...

I feel that this could be improved

Hi Wolfgang,

I cannot quite reproduce the behaviour you describe.

When I don't change anything in the "Edit LED" window and click "OK" or "Cancel" the LED is still selected but PANEL is shown. If you click on "PANEL" in the status line it changes to PANEL_LED.

If I make changes in the "Edit LED" window however and then leave it with "OK", the status line says PANEL_LED correctly

Thanks for your reply

In fact I did not change any control property but left the popup panel via either OK or Cancel - and then, as you confirm, the control is still selected (which is ok) but the status line does not show the control position anymore (which I consider is not ok): I have highlighted your reply which, in my opinion, shows the inconsistency because when the control is selected the status line also should refer to the control and not the panel... Would you agree?

I have filed a CAR (corrective action request). As it is a minor inconvinience I think it will not be fixed for this version.

Although a minor issue it's nice that it has been fixed now, in CVI2020 it works as expected, thanks NI for listening.
