auto-saved .tui files never deleted

Solved!
Go to solution

Following the suggestion from Roberto here I enabled "Automatically save copy of UIR as TUI file" in CVI 2015 SP1. This simplifies the handling of UI files in git.

I have enabled the "auto backup" feature too, as shown below:

I've just noticed that there is at least one condition when CVI automatically saves a copy of the .tui file. I don't know exactly which is this condition: time interval, before compiling, before debugging, other, ...

I suppose that this happens when an .uir has been edited and not saved yet. In this case, the file is saved appending "~hhmmss" before the extension.

These files are not deleted when I save the .uir file pressing the button.

And this is annoying because git finds new file to track and I must manually delete (or exclude from tracking) them.

Is this an expected behavior?

If not, is it possible to fix this?

I have the same problem. After long programming sessions there can be hundreds of tui files strewn around the directory...
