I am developing an application which requires angle accuracy in terms of 5 arc seconds for line edge detection. I have tried the following methods for the line detection with the same settings :
i. IMAQ Find Straight edge (4.98633 degrees)
ii. IMAQ Find Straight edges 3 (4.8566 degrees)
A documentation is provided in NI vision concepts which appears to be a common documentation for all IMAQ edge detection tools. It is not specific to the above mentioned algorithms. Does anyone have an idea regarding what algorithms are used internally to detect the edges. Also, it would be good to know if any other intermediate processing is taking place on the image for improving the contrast or a flat field correction is done to maintain uniform light intensity.
