Hi,

Do you see the same error if you turn off the Firewall? This might be the reason that your getting this error. If it's the Firewall, you might want to look at this thread.

I have the BROADCOM NETEXTREME 57XX GIGABIT CONTROLLER as my ethernet card.

I have to sent the packet size to be 1500 bytes in order for this camera to work

but my camera manual says that

"To Achieve full camera performance, you should use a Gigabit Ethernet card that supports "Jumbo frames" of at leasta 9Kb Size.

 

Do you think we have a ethernet card issue?

When I get the camera to work. the CPU usage is around 70-80% and it lead to crashing of my computer.

You certainly should get a jumbo-frames capable card.

 

The workload on the CPU is substantially higher without jumbo-frames enabled.

My camera default packet size is 8000 bytes

But I have to set to 1500 bytes in order for it to work.

With that, my CPU work load increases and it crash my computer.

Do I really need to get a new high preformace card? I thought my dell ethernet card is already high performace?

Dell's definition of "high performance" is with respect to office LAN environments.

 

Machine vision imaging is a demanding application, and not something one can necessarily expect Dell, HP, or other manufacturers, who are price-pressured by the market, to plan for.
