I recently upgraded from Vision Development Module 2015 SP1 to Vision Development Module 2018. Everything now responds very slowly. For example, just to open Vision Assistant takes 30-45 seconds.
Any code that uses methods from any of the vision modules also exhibits this delay. I removed 2018 and went back to 2015 and all is fine again. Not sure what the issue is but 2018 is essentially unusable as is, at least for me.

Hi John,
I'm guessing that you are probably using LabVIEW 2015 sp1 to run VDM in both cases. Both VDM 2015 and 2018 are compatible with LabVIEW 2015. I think the slow down might just be a symptom of VDM 2018 being built around LabVIEW 2018 and minor differences between the two versions. Are you experiencing any slow behavior other than opening Vision Assistant? Are there any features of VDM 2018 that you don't have with VDM 2015 that you need?

Could you please post the specifications of the computer on which you're running VDM? processor, frequency, RAM, etc.

Windows 10 64-bit, Intel i7-4770 3.4GHz, 16 Gig memory.

The issue ended up being the fact that the volume license server was down.
Initial access to an object in an NI library was trying to ping the server, which was off line, so it was hanging until the timeout time was reached.

Hi TyVo,
Probably you are right. but I want any solution of this. Do you have any fix regarding this?

In License Manager, if you are using network licenses, make sure your volume license server is running and on-line.
If you are using a local license, make sure you are not trying to access a license server.
