camera serial comunication

Hi guys!

I have a Duncantech camera that I want control it with Labview through the serial port RS-232 but I have problems with the serial commands.  I created a simple vi for send to camera a command  but I am not getting any response and the vi don't send me an error.  I'm not sure to use the correct syntax.
Has anyone worked with Duncantech or Redlake camera through the serial port?, How should I write the commands?,  Do I need add a carriage return at the end of the string command?

Thanks
Itzel

You need to contact Duncantech or Redlake and ask them for commands/syntax. You can use the Serial examples shipped in LabVIEW (Help -> Find Examples) to communicate with those cameras.

Hi I.GarnicaP.

In order for us to acknowledge how the camera interpretates the serial commands, we would need the user manual or specifications manual of our camera. If you are having doubts about the integrity of your serial port, then you can first perform a loopback test to verify that your port is working correctly. Here is how to perform the loopback test:

How to Do a Serial Loopback Test

Hope this helps
