drivers for 1422 on window 10

Hiya,

I have a piece of equipment that has a NI 1422 card in it.

Yes I know it is dated. But so am I.

I am trying to at least run it with NiMAX on a window 10 PC.

Windows 10 finds the device but there is no driver ---at least that

I can  find.

Does one exist??   changing to a different FG for the time being is not in the cards.

Help??!!

Try installing the latest NI IMAQ driver that supports NI 1422 (which is Vision Acquisition Software 2018).

I installed version 18

I run NIMax and I still need to find the driver;

It says  Windows driver not found for the 1422

The  card is plugged in---- I am migrating from windows 7 by choice/necessity.

Is there some other repository for drivers?

Thanks

Do I need to go to an even earlier version?

Has the 1422 been completely cut loose?

Thanks

Did you try finding the driver through Windows Device Manager? NI 1422 has been obsolete for more than several years now and officially the support ended with the 2019 driver.

Yes I did try and find the drivers.

There is a link to take me to NI drivers but it doesn't go anywhere useful

In general, do the drivers  come with the  Vision Acquisition Software (VAS) download?

If not, are they separate?

If they do should I download earlier versions of VAS?

I think version 15.x   is one of the first  that support Windows 10

Does anyone out there have a 1422 driver for windows 10?

Thanks

The 1422 is built into a custom camera system that we cannot afford to  re fabricate with

a newer frame grabber.

VAS includes NI IMAQ, NI IMAQdx, and NI IMAQ I/O, and you need the NI IMAQ to use 1422.

Make sure you install NI IMAQ only because IMAQdx requires license to use.

You may want to try previous version of IMAQ but make sure to uninstall the later version of VAS before you install the older version.

The driver package file should be automatically associated with your card, but if not, it is generally installed to the following location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Staging\Current

Have you tried associating the device in Device Manager with the driver package in that directory?

Thanks for taking the time to write and to help me.

The device manager claims the frame grabber is an unknown

"multimedia video controller"

I pointed it to

C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Staging\Current

But it claimed there were no drivers there (and there doesn't appear to be)

NiMAX says that

"Windows does not have a driver associated with your device."

"VAS includes NI IMAQ, NI IMAQdx, and NI IMAQ I/O, and you need the NI IMAQ to use 1422.

Make sure you install NI IMAQ only because IMAQdx requires license to use."

My next step is to remove everything and reinstall only NI IMAQ
