Fully agree with you. In additional, I'm not happy with "activation" routine, because most of our end users haven't any internet connection on the target PCs, so if hardware significantly changed - they have troubles every time.
I'm pretty sure that full uninstalling is not necessary - but the only "check point" should be removed - that may be other than lic file, or registry entry, may be something else. Nice exercise for reverse engineering (which is obviously prohibited in the license agreement)
