measurement studio license expiration error

Hello, I am having an issue with Measurement Studio in a Visual Basic application.  We have been using this application with Measurement Studio for several years with no errors.  Recently I added some enhancements to the application and now when I compile it I get a pop up message that the evaluation period for Measurement Studio ActiveX controls has expired.  At that point the portions of the application using the ActiveX controls doesn't work.  I have a legal and fully registered version of Measurement Studio.  I have tried uninstalling and installing Measurement Studio and it did not fix the issue.  I also found a similar article on this site about this and downloaded the license fixer, but it did not fix the issue.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Also, I should mention I tried the solutions posted in this thread and I am still having problems:

Note that I get this message when compiling the program on my dev box and also when running the program on other boxes I have deployed the application to.

Lonestar,

I've found something else to try with this ActiveX issue.  If you could unregister, then reregister your ActiveX controls, and then run the license fixer utility, it might clear up this issue.

You can find instructions for how to manually unregister and reregister ActiveX controls on the following KnowledgeBase:
The control you want to un- and re-register is the CWUI.ocx control.

If this doesn't work, then I think I'll need a little bit more information about this error.  What version of VB are you using?  What version of Measurement Studio are you running.  Which ActiveX controls are you seeing this error with?

Please let me know if you are still experiencing trouble with this, and I'll be happy to help further.

When I had run the license fixer utility before, something showed up under the licensed controls, but nothing showed up as a broken license.  Now, after unregistering and registering the .ocx file as you instructed, nothing shows up at all in the license fixer.

What happens is the application works fine on my dev box.  When I go to make the .exe, when the progress bar gets about 2/3 of the way done, the license message pops up.

I am using Visual Basic 6.0.  The Measurement Studio is for Visual Studio .NET, Measurement Studio Professional Edition.  The P/N is 778801-03.  In my Visual Basic project under Components it lists "National Instruments CW Inst 6.0" and "National Instruments CW UI 8.0."  I didn't create this application from scratch, I have only gone in added a few enhancements and bug fixes.  Please let me know what other information you need from me.  This is costing us a lot of time and lost productivity right now, so I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Lonestar,

I am unsure what CW controls you are using, so I only had you unregister and reregister the most common.  If it didn't work, then you can try unregistering and reregistering the following:

CWUI.ocx
CWDS.ocx
CWAnalysis.ocx
CW3DGraph.ocx

Then try running the License Fixer Utility.

If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer between the unregister and reregister operations, and then again between reregister and running the Utility.

Hope this helps!

Thanks to Patrick and Josh from NI the problem appears to be fixed.  I had installed support for .NET when I needed to install support for VB 6.0.

Thanks for all the help.
