NI SMD-7613/7614/7615/7616 Stepper Motor Drives - comparizon Table

Sorry for my obvious question, but where on NI Web page can I found full list of the NI Stepper Drives with all parameters?

Like NI SMD-76* Stepper Motor Drives. I have seen some info few years ago, but unable to found.

Are they still in production and available?

Thank you in advance.

Andrey:

NI dropped their motion HW/SW platform years ago, I cant recall exactly how many.

Looks like Apex Waves cached some manuals and guides:

Thank you very much! This is what I expected, but wasn't found and discontinue notice.

That explain everything, will take other drive from other supplier, no problem.

In the past I've used NI Motion with NI motors, and it was so easy to configure and control such drive just with few mouse clicks.

Hi Andrey,

From my prior knowledge, the NI SMD-761x stepper drives were rebranded stepper drives from Applied Motion.  If you're looking for a replacement for SMD-761x, you can check out this page and find something similar.  https://www.applied-motion.com/s/category/products/stepper-products/stepper-drives/0ZG5i0000008sUjGA...

Good news is that these stepper drives are fairly generic, all you need is STEP/DIR pulses to command them.  NI didn't put any custom firmware on SMD-761x, so interchanging SMD-761x with another generic stepper drive should be fairly straightforward.

On the other hand, NI motion controllers (PCI/PXI-73xx, NI 951x modules) have been discontinued since 2018.  My company has designed the TENET EMotion to replace past NI-Motion products in an effortless way.  Attached is a PDF that describes how to transition from NI-Motion to TENET EMotion, covering both hardware and software aspects.

About myself:

I worked for NI for 15 years as motion control system engineer.  After NI discontinued their motion products for LabVIEW, I founded TENET to provide motion control products for LabVIEW, because motion control still plays an important role for test and measurement systems.

Let me know if you have questions regarding NI-Motion, I'll be glad to help you out. 😀
