Can multiple PCI-61XX cards be connected to sample simultaneously? If so, how?

Solved!

Our plans call for a variety of experiments which will involve the acquisition and use of PCI-6110, PCI-6111, and PCI-6115 cards for analog signal acquisition.  Is is possible to combine two or more of these cards so that they sample simultaneously and thus increase our simultaneously sampled analog input channel count?  If so, what are the hardware connections, and how is the software configured to control the simultaneous sampling?  Thank you.

The DAQmx driver makes this really easy for S Series, DSA, and X Series boards (but mutually exclusive, you can't mix and match the 3 product lines).  You need all the cards in a PXI chassis, or, as in your case, a RTSI cable connected to all the boards and the cable configured in MAX.  To configure the cable in MAX, right click "Devices and Interfaces", select "Create New...", and choose "RTSI Cable".  For each device the RTSI cable is connected to, right click it in MAX, choose "Properties" and configure the cable in the "RTSI Configuration" tab.

Once that is all set up its as easy as adding all the channels to a single task.  For example your physical channel string could be "Dev1/ai0:3,Dev2/ai0:1,Dev3/ai0:3"for a 6110, 6111, and 6115.

Dear Zach,

It sounds like you have done this previously.  Thank you for the courtesy and usefulness of your reply.
