DAQ with Beagleboard X-15

We own a dozen or so USB-6229-OEM multifunction DAQ boards and have been successfully using them on a PC platform with code developed in C# in .NET.  We want to start using them with the Beagleboard X-15 running Debian-Stretch.  Monodevelop runtime is installed on the X-15, so there is no problem running compiled C# executables.  What would it take to actually connect up the USB-6229-OEM to the X-15 and get it working?  The Linux drivers shown on the download site only include DAQ-MX Base, does not reference Debian (only CentOS, Redhat, SUSE) and also under "Supported Hardware" the USB-6229-OEM is not listed.

There are several hurdles, unfortunately:

  • As you noticed, Debian is not one of NI's currently-supported Linux distributions for NI-DAQmx 18.1 for Linux.
  • The binaries in NI-DAQmx 18.1 for Linux are built for amd64 platforms, not ARM.
  • NI-DAQmx 18.1 for Linux also does not presently support any USB devices, only PCI/PXI/PCIe/PXIe ones.
