DAQPad-6020E Error Message 10402

Solved!
Go to solution

I am running the Labview 2010 and a USB DAQPad-6020E.

I have written some code to read 1 sample every second, using the 'AI Sample Channels - Single Point Waveform'.

Everything is working for a while but then It comes up with the error message ' Error -10402 at AI Single Scan'

Possible reasons - No device is located at the specified slot ...

Looking at the message boards it looks like it is Windows XP trying to be efficient and when it goes into the screensaver it turns off the USB.

Has anyone else have this happen to them and what did they do about it?

I cannot turn the screensaver off as it is corporate policy for the screensaver to kick in after 15 mins and have also set it so the Harddisks don't turn off.

Hi TC,

This is a problem that I have heard of before, there is a community example that may be helpful to you,

Enable/Disable Windows Screensaver with LabVIEW: http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-12290

However, this VI does access your Windows Registry so I would use it at your own discretion.

The only other thing that I can think of is to check your Power Saver settings from control panel, see if there are any options regarding the USB ports...

Have a look at this: http://www.himsa.com/Support/NOAHlinkKnowledgebase/Howto/turnoffaUSBportspowersaveoption/tabid/492/l...
