Device not available for routing

Hi Folks,

 

I am using DAQ USB 6251 for my application, I keep getting an error that the 'device is not available for routing' when I run my VI. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the device but that didn't resolve the issue.  I have also used the measurement and automation explorer to run self test, reset the device and run the test panel; it passed all of them. But I get an error when I run self calibration. See the figure attached.

 

I have also tried to use the device on other computer but I keep getting the same error.

 

Does any one know how to fix this problem?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you'll need to post the troublesome code.  It's pretty hard to determint why you get the quoted error from an apparently unrelated screenshot.

Thank for your response,

 

I have tested the my code with another DAQ 6251 that I have and it works with that one. I downloaded the DAQ Diagnostic Utility from NI website and ran a diagnostic on both the DAQ that I have. I have attached the diagnostic report for both of them.

 

The DAQ I am having trouble with failed during calibration and while testing the Analog outputs. See 'Diagnostic Results 1260265'

 

Does this mean that there is an hardware issue with the DAQ?

Hi Jeff,

 

Yes I thought so too. The outputs are damaged. The DAQ has been used by other students before I got my hand on it, I guess someone using outputs must have done it.

 

But in my application I am acquiring data from analog inputs. Not using any outputs.

 

In the measurement and automation explorer, when I use the test panel, it seems to be working and acquiring data. Will the damaged outputs affect the input? Any suggestion on how to get around the damaged outputs and use the inputs only?

Call me picky but, I do not use damaged hardware.  I would not even consider advising you to, or how to, "work around" unreliable hardware.  VERY dangerous practice- bad juju

Hey Jeff,

 

I don't usually use damaged hardware myself. This is a first.. I thought I should try and find out if there is a way to fix it, before I go ahead and get a new DAQ.
