Device not showing up in MAX

I have a DaqCard 6036e and installed drivers properly, but MAX cannot detect device. Since my computer does not have a pcmcia slot, I am using an usb to pcmcia adapter. I am using nidaq traditional driver version 7.1. I don't know why MAX can't detect device since it shows no problem in Device Manager.

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how MAX enumerates all devices installed. I guess if I make some changes in registry I would be able to get MAX to recognise my device.

Hi,

Unfortunately, NI does not sell a USB to PCMCIA card adaptor. Also we have not tested our PCMCIA cards with third party adaptors. There may be an adaptor on the market that will work. However, in a preliminary search I didn't see many options out there better than the one you pointed out. I doubt there is a real viable solution available. If you are interested in a USB data acquisition solution I would highly recommend getting a dedicated USB DAQ device such as the NI USB-6251. You can take a look at it at https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/model.usb-6251.html. In addition to being natively USB 2.0 compatible it is quite a bit more capable than the DAQCard 6036E.

Is this a new installation?  If so, is there a reason you are using Traditional DAQ instead of the DAQmx driver?   My suggestion would be to upgrade to your installation to DAQmx and see if you still have a problem.
