Differential Input

Hello, I was wondering if I use differential inputs on for instance the PCI-6220. Can I use the total sampling rate (250Ks/s) divided by the number of differential channels (8) or divided by the total number of channels (16).

I think this depends on how the differential input works. Does it first combine two signals and then samples them?
