How to maintain the state of DIO signal after power-down

Hello Forum,

I am using the digital output of PCIMIO 16XE 50 to drive TTL signals to position a 2-position valve via LabVIEW. I have a problem while powering up and shutting down the computer. I figured out that the DAQ board sets the power-up voltage to 5 V. So I attached a resistance to bring down this voltage. Right now, if the valve is set to TTL low, the state is maintained while shutting down and power up of PC. However, if the valve is set to TTL high, the state is pulled back to low while shutting down and power up. How can I maintain the state of TTL signals, the way it is when I exit LabVIEW, even if I shut down the computer.

Many thanks in advance,

Renju Zacharia

That old card does not have programmable power up states so the function will do no good. The card powers up with the digital I/O in a high impedance state per the manual.
