NI MAX crashes on load

Hello,

 

System with Win 7 64 bit and device drivers 2014. I am unable to run NI-Max. Initially I got an error: A new guard page for the stack cannot be created. After that it starts and freezes or crashes. Can this be related to antivirus software (Symantec End Point)?

This was installed by my customer on their computer, I cannot install newer version or disable antivirus software.

What's preventing you from installing a newer version or disabling the antivirus software?

 

Have you tried repairing NI MAX?

I am using their test executive that expects a certain version of .NET. TestStand and C# environment. I am not sure if newer one will work, but if it will, will it solve the problem? Version 2014 claims compatibility with Win 7 64 bit.

IT dept is more powerful than software department and will not let me uninstall antivirus.

Since it seems that your options are limited regarding turning off antivirus or updating your drivers, I would try doing a repair on your driver, which will also perform a repair on NI MAX.

Thank for your response Marco. I decided to install a newer version (2017). So far looks good, no crashes. I need to make sure this change does not affect other components of my system
