NI PCI-6024E and Virtualization

Would it be possible to use NI PCI-6024E within a virtual environment? For example, could I install the card on a Hyper-V host and be able to interface with a VM running on that host? Is there a driver for this card that would allow me to do this?

Hello tylertx,

I will say that it is technically possible but this is more a question how to assign a specific PCI slot with a VM.

It would probably be more helpful if the forum knew more about your applications and why you are trying to virtualize the OS.

The main reason for virtualizing is to gain the ability to quickly and easily move the OS to different or new hardware as needed. Setting up a new client on hardware is time consuming and costly to us. Backing up the VM is more convenient for us as well as being able to restore a VM on another host if one fails. Virtualization works for most of our Windows based clients but a few have the card mentioned above. 

It appears that our limitation is not with the card. I appreciate the links and help with finding my answer.
