NI PCIe 6351 X-Series card not detected on computer system, not seen

Hello Community,

sorry for asking questions towards an ordinary installation problem according NI PCIe 6351 X-Series card.

I purchased 2 identically cards and they are not seen in the device manager or MAX on 2 different Windows-7-PC.

The first PC is a Lenovo Workstation E31 manufactured around 2012 with latest BIOS installed.

The other PC is Fujitsu Siemens.

Both PC do not show up the card in device manager with NI-DAQmx 16 drivers installed.

After several trials and BIOS-adjustments one card showed up once or twice in device manager of windows with an Asterix,

saying "Unable to start the device". Later they disappeared again.

We tried x1 and x16-slot. Both same behaivor.

The temporarilly showing up was in the x16-slot of the Fujitsu Siemens PC.

Is there a known issue about detection problems on X-Series cards?

Any known solutions on the forum, though i was not able to find any for me.

Regards from Germany.

Hi Visualizer,

are your devices recognized in the Windows Device Manager? Are they recognized to be NI Devices (showing the NI Eagle as symbol)?

Windows Device Manager might be part of the issue, so you could have a look at the following KBs:

Hello Stefan,

thanks for your answer.

For now i still not got even one of those two cards (PCIe 6351) running yet. Wasn't able to test them in other computer system as mentioned above yet.

Mostly they are not showing up in device manager at all, except once or twice on Fujitsu computer, where they appeared with yellow asterix, telling "unable to start the device".

Your first link looks interesting to me, bec i can read about incompatibilities on HP systems. The described behavior looks quite familiar to me and this may be the problem i have also on my Lenovo Xeon Workstation E31 and Fujitsu Siemens Computer.

I installed the latest BIOS already without any effects. Also tried DAQmx 16 and 17 drivers.

My plan is to try other computer, for exampe a Dell,  and do what else is written in there for a possible solution.

Second link i saw somewhere already, and cannot be the problem (slow boot) bec devices not even show up in device manager.

Once i found time to do furter testing i will report possible results and solutions. THX

Regards,

Johannes.

I applied the Core Driver Update mentioned from Stefan in his first Link posted: No effect. Nothing changed. NI PCIe 6351 is still not seen in device manager of Windows nor MAX!

The Readme says, drivers newer than DAQmx 8 include that patch and installation of this Core Driver Update is not neccessary.

So the DAQmx 16 installed on my Lenovo E31 should include that patch before and i didnt expect any change but tried it anyway.
