Hi larshana-

To create a new thread, just click on the forum name at the top of the page to view all the threads in that forum.  There is a big blue button at the top of that page that says New Message.  Click on that to create a new thread.

Thanks a lot guys.! I too had the same problem of 4GB RAM and the libnipalu.so error. At boot i typed mem=4096M and it worked. But i have a question, do i have to give the dynamic mem assignment to 4GB each time during boot?

Rakhi-

You may get some better answers if you post to the NI-DAQmx Base Forums.  Just an idea.

Linux of course support PAE (Physical Address Extentions) that allows up to 64 GB of physical address space.  In general this breaks a lot of assumptions in a driver written for a 32 bit operating system,

No, it breaks the assumption of a driver written for some specific (sub-)architecture, that doesn't use the proper APIs, which have been created to solve exactly that type of problem.

Will we remove this requirement in the future?  Anything is possible, however porting our drivers to 64 bit Linux is probably more likely since it provides the same benefits and is the direction the computer industry is heading.

If it's such bad code, that it even doesn't use the DMA API correctly, than it's better - and cheaper - to rewrite it from scratch. This time, as an IIO driver, of course.
