The device self test failed, cDAQ-9188 and don't see the modules

Solved!
Go to solution

I’m trying to connect cDAQ-9188 with my computer. Because I had an older version of MAX, I updated MAX version 4.7.4. and also the latest version of the NI System Configuration 1.1.4.

After these updates cDAQ-9188 was recognized in MAX, but still the module 9219 not. You can see the module in the screen system settings, but that is al. When I go to the screen Firmware or I start the self test I get several errors, see attachment.

I already tried a direct connecting between the cDAQ-9188 and my computer and a connecting with a hub between the computer and the cDAQ-9188.

Have someone an idea what I have to do?

Which version of NI-DAQmx do you currently have installed?  The reason that Self Test is failing is that the device hasn't been reserved for your PC yet. If you click the "Reserve Chassis" button, do you receive an error?

Dear Seth,

Thank you I didn’t know that it was so easy, only to push the button reserve chassis was enough.

First I had a lot of other problems with the software (old versions); I solved that but the last part, too push reserve chassis button was too much for me today.

It works fine at this moment with NI-DAQmy version 9.2.3, thank you again,

I have an ethernet DAQ 9188, when I try to connect from the MAX get an error message "Unhandled exception in network Configuration Extension"  DAQ  and I can not see the modules and the System Settings.

When I click the "Reserve Chassis" button i receive the error that is in Attachment 2!!!.

Have someone an idea what I have to do?...

Thanks.

Dear CharlieCol,

thank you so much for your post on our webforum. In the past there were some issues between MAX and silverlight on a Windows XP computer with localized settings. Thos issues were resolved with a new release of MAX (4.7.4). So if you are on a lower version of MAX, please find a newer version here.

Please let us know which software versions (MAX and DAQmx) you are running and how the chassis is connected to your computer (direct). Are you able to reach the chassis using another computer? Is the firer wall turned on?

Dear ninlmartijn:

I followed the steps you indicated me, download the new version of MAX, and working properly, definitely the previous version generated the error.

Thanks ninlmartijn.

Best Regards.
