What is the max input on USB-6211 without damaging the unit? I see +/- 10V and a caution on the documents that mention higher could cause errors. My situation is I have a sensor that outputs 0-10V but outputs 11V when it is off. Any have any advise? Also is the GND a true reference or can I make -1V range my arbitrary ground?
Thanks.

Have you read the specification sheet?
"Overvoltage protection for all analog input and sense channels "
Also, which method do you select to measure the voltage, "single ended" or "differential"?
NI recommends "differential". If you do, don't have to care the GND.

Thanks for sending the link to the specific data sheet. The ones I could find did not state it absolute limit above 10V. I asked many LabVIEW users here and I received many different answers. Unfortunately, the system has a hard ground as its references with an off state of 11Volts. Good thing, the senor is linear, so I will do a voltage divider, and rescale in LabVIEW for the results. Many Thanks!!
