USB device drivers not installed

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I have NI USB 6212 device, LabVIEW 2010 and DAQmx device drivers 9.1.5 on Windows 7 (x64). Device is normally recognized on other computer, but not on my computer. When I plugin device, Windows start searching for drivers, but they are not found. Windows Device manager see the device as Unknown device and MAX doesn't see it at all. NI Device monitor is running as well as NI Device Loader.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrej

Hello,

It would be best if you tried reinstalling the DAQmx drivers.

Have you tried that?

I don't believe that this is the cause of your problem (since you mentioned that the Windows Device Manager does not see the device), but you should also note that there is a problem in 9.1.5 where devices may not be recognized by MAX; patches are available for 9.1.5  or you can upgrade to DAQmx 9.1.7  or 9.2.2.

I reinstalled DAQmx 9.2.2 drives and solved the problem.

Hello...

I have the same problem, but reinstalling NI-DAQmx is not fixing it.

We have used many USB-6212s in many computers and have had few problems.

This particular USB-6212 is recognized in another computer that has the same

motherboard but W7 OS.  But this computer, which has Win XP OS will not

recognize it.  It had DAQmx version 9.1.7 originally.  It wouldn't work.  We removed

DAQmx 9.1.7 and installed DAQmx 9.3.5.  It still doesn't see it.  We have tried

plugging it into other USB ports, having other USB devices present and not present,

and have tried plugging it in via a hub.  Still not working.  We have had

other devices plugged into USB (serial port emulation, flash memory) and they

work fine, so I think this computer's USBs are fine.

Any ideas?  Thanks to everyone who posts!

Halden
