Hello,
What happens when the NI-9136 CompactDAQ Controller overheats? For example if its enviroment exceeds 55°C while operating. Will it flag an error, will it shutdown or will permentate damage occur to the controler?
Thanks,

Depends. I don't believe most NI modules have any overheat detection. You may see anything from weird measurements while out of range to a completely broken module. What temperature did you go to?

I have not exceed the limit, but more want to know what will happen if I do.

If environmental requirements (like operating temperature) are not met, product performance and accuracy may not meet published specifications. In some cases, the device may become unsafe, and the hardware could be permanently damaged. NI does not recommend using your device outside of the specified operating temperature, but if you have an application where the temperature may exceed 55°C in which you choose to employ your cDAQ controller, please validate the setup by testing it under the expected conditions, before finalizing your design.
