What hardware have to buy to set a delay with an half nanosecond resolution?I have ti buy a new hardware to control a scientific apllication.I have to wait a trigger andset a digital output after a delay (some nanoseconds or some us) with a resolution of an half nanosecond (maybe 1 ns but it could be too much). What hardware can I use?Maybe a cRio with FPGA?
Or a normal DAQ?
Any suggestions?
Many thanks!

What hardware do you use to measure the delay ?
500ps is the delay of about 12cm RG58 cable...
How about a MUX with sets of coax cables ? (The classical delay line for pretriggers in old scopes)
Jim Williams (RIP) from linear.com wrote some articles about adjustable delay lines for pulse length shaping , Basically an adjustable RC line followed by an comparator/ST.
