chartrecorder by cRIO 9215+USB 9161

Hi,

I am trying to build a x-y chartrecorder by cRIO 9215+usb 9161. I have installed the DAQmx Base and can run nidatalogger. To build a chartrecorder, one axis is the analog signal from a photodiode through BNC cable (the BNC cable is splitted to two subcables: one connected to AI0+, another connected to AI0-). And another axis is not through 9215+9161. I have a motor-controlled stage which is controlled by a NI PCI-GPIB card. The driver software for the motor stage is under labview 8.6. So the another axis is the position of the motor stage.

Since I have no experence on this kind of setup, I want to know following questions:

1 is it possible to build a x-y chartrecorder (waveform) through above devices

2, if it is possible, how should do to combine two signals from different devices into one waveform?

Thanks in advance,

Wei

Howdy Wei!

You should be able to use the XY Graph to plot data points from any two sources.  Two combine the data from your two different sources you will need to make sure they are converted to the same data type, then you could use the Build XY Graph Express VI to create the XY graph.

Alternately, if you want the data points to be added to the graph in a chart-like fashion you might consider a method similar to the one used in this example.
