Howdy everyone.
I just got two PCIe 6259 M series boards, and a RTSI cable to connect the two. (Eventually, my application will require that they will need to some share triggers/timing info.)
I got the cards installed no problem into the PCIe chassis. I plugged in the RTSI cable to connect the two 6259s together.
I opened up MAX and almost everything seems to be fine: the cards are recognized, they pass a self-test, was able to calibrate them, etc.
However, I have one small hang-up configuring the cards. In MAX, when I try to configure one of the devices to let the computer/drivers know a I've connected the RTSI cable (e.g. NI-DAQmxDevices>>Dev1>>Properties>>RTSI Configuration), then I see a the pull-down menu titled "RTSI Cable". Problem is, the only item in the menu is "None".
So, my questions are:
a) Do I actually need to configure my 6259s for RTSI in this way in MAX?
b) If yes, then how do I do it/what might be going wrong?
c) or am I missing something obvious?
Many thanks for any advice/hints!

Hello,
It sounds like you're almost there, but you will need to add the RTSI cable to MAX manually. The screenshot in the link is from the older version of MAX, if you are on a more recent version it will like more like this:
Once the cable is created you should be able to add your DAQ devices to the cable. At this point you can use DAQmx to directly route signals from one card to the other over the RTSI cable. I hope this helps!
Best Regards,

Thanks for the leads...this worked perfectly. I had searched for "rtsi configure" previously and got not dice. There was a link posted earlier, which appears to have been edited and is now gone. For good measure, I'll repost it here. Thanks again.

Hello,
Right after I posted I saw that John Passiak had answered the question. I'm happy that the information helped you resolve the issue, thanks for the kudos! I included searching the key words: rtsi max. Additionally, the link is also available under "add the RTSI cable" in John's post. Cheers 🙂
