Hi, I want to synchronize 2 or more of the digital I/O ports on the USB-6351 and want to know if this DAQ will provide this function? I have not been able to find that in the spec sheet: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/370787b.pdf or support page:
http://sine.ni.com/psp/app/doc/p/id/psp-927/lang/en . I have been told it is called "correlated digital I/O".

I should have been a bit more clear, I want the output of the lines correlated and consistent when they start relative to each other.

MSUS,
'Correlated digital I/O' is a term that was used to describe a DIO port which supported a sample clock, but could not provide its own sample clock. Essentially the output on the port was correlated to an external signal. The USB-6351 supports this mode of operation, as well as the ability to provide its own sample clock. This is supported only on port 0 on the USB-6351, which gives you 8 lines which can be updated based on a sample clock.
Hope that helps,
Dan

Hello MSUS, hope you are doing great!
Definetely the correlated IO decription given above is correct.
However form the description of your problem I might think you are trying do synchronized Input and output of waveforms for your application.
You can check this example if you check, under help the example finder» Hardware Input and output»DAQmx»Multifunction and look for the example called Multi-Functio-Synch-Dig-Read-Write-with counter.vi
This example demonstrates how to input and output a continous digital waveform simultaneously using a counter as a clock.
Let us know if this is what you were looking for so we can assist you further,
