set analog input resolution bits

Hello,

Can I set the number of bits my USB-6000 DAQ uses to sample an analog input? I'd like to set it to 12 (the maximum) and as an exercise show the signal sampled with 10, 8, 6.

(similar to the arduino 'analogReadResolution(nbits)' command)

I am Ed from National Instruments Applications Engineering. I have been forwarded your query with regards to whether it is possible to set the number of bits your ADC acquires at.

Unfortunately this feature is not available for DAQ instruments. There is a property node for the analog input Resolution, however this is read only. I was wondering what the application purposes were for controlling the resolution?

you can do it with code and in software by converting scale
