variable analog out

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all

I may be being obtuse here, but is it possible to generate a variable AO voltage without using buffers and waveforms, i.e. just send a single value to the Analog out as and when desired?

I have got it working by creating a waveform where the offset is the desired voltage level and the amplitude and frequency are zero, but it seems to be a long way round to achieve what's needed.  Also because I'm creating the AO voltage as a servo motor control signal I need to be able to have a rapid response to positional information.  I have found that the buffer size and sample rate that give the cycle/update time can cause crashes if the buffer is too small, and/or it seems, if the computer is otherwise occupied.

Any thoughts/ideas gratefully received

Season's Greetings to all

Andy

Have you looked at the DAQmx examples? There's one called Gen Voltage Update. The DAQmx Write is simply set to 1Ch 1Samp.
