555 timer sim

I put a simple astable 555 timer in Multisim and it does not seem to flash the lights properly. I physically built the circuit and it flashes like it should, about 1flash per second. The simulator shows it flashing at about one flash every 4 seconds.  What do you think?

Hi Sid,

Do you know what the state is for your mixed-mode simulation settings? Some times with the digital components you would experience different behaviors depending if you use the ideal pin mode or the real pin mode. 

You can access that setting window by selecting Simulate from the Multisim Menu and then Mixed-mode simulation settings option from the drop down menu. 

Also, in the following link you can find some further details regarding the diferent modes for the digital pins. Hopefully this information might be useful for you!

I just tried both and the lights flash at the same frequency.
