I created a new install of TestStand 4.5.1 and DIAdem 11.3 from the latest NI DevSuite 2011 onto a new PC. When using the TS sequence editor to create a new sequence file, I noticed that the DIAdem Step Types no longer appear under the Insert Step-> menu. I tried loading a previously created TS 4.2.1 sequence in TS and receive the warning, "String not found in language resource files" for any DIAdem steps.
The TestExec.ini file from my previous system contains the correct DIAdem step types but the new system does not. Also noticed that TS Version 2010 creates 2 folders. "..\TestStand 2010 SP1\" and "..\TestStand 4.5.1\" but neither contain the language resource file needed.
Is this an installer problem or does the TestStand/DIAdem step types have to be installed using a special NI software toolkit?

I'm not sure where you got them from, but the diadem step types do not ship with teststand. Also there should not be a 4.5.1 directory, pathnames should all use "TestStand 2010 SP1". Not sure what created the 4.5.1 directory, but it was probably not the teststand installer. Take a look at the files in that directory to get an idea of what might have created it.
Hope this helps,

The DIAdem Step Types can be found here:
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/1724
You will need to install them into each version of TestStand manually. The instructions for installing have changed since the TestStand directory structure has changed between 3.1 (when that example was created) and 4.5.1 was released. You will want to install the files located in the "User" directory in the zip file to the <TestStandPublic> directory, which will depend on your operating system where it is located.
