Hi:
We recently upgraded from Teststand 4.0.1 to Teststand 4.0.1f1. As a result I ran the Teststand Deployment Utility again so I could create a new installer for all new and existing stations. However, when I try to run setup on a station, I get the following error (see attachment for popup):
The NI Math Kernel Libraries installation has failed with the following error:
Error 1334, The file 'NIMDFManifestFileID.DB2C5649_700D_4AEF_83E1_70C72F0C34FA' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'mkl_mft.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
Any idea what is causing this?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi dseel,
Thanks

1. Yes, I uninstalled all NI software from the staiton before attempting to install the new version
2. I used my previous .tsd file.
3. Here are the components to include:
Enhanced DSC Deployment Support for LabView 8.01 and 8.21
NI LabVIEW 7.0 and 7.1.1 RTE
NI LabVIEW RTE 8.0.1 and 8.2.1
NI LabWindows/CVI 8.1 RTE
NI Variable Engine
NI DataSocket and NI USI 1.4.1 are in the list but not checked.
These are all the defaults, I believe.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi dseel,
Please pardon the delay. I am attempting to replicate the issue, but I would like to get further information.
- Would you please post copies of your systems' MAX report? I would like a report of your development and target machines.
To create a MAX report, please open Measurement and Automation Explorer and select File >> Create Report... In the MAX Report Wizard, please create a Technical Support type for your Max System. Please include a report for both computers.
Thanks

I assume you meant Help->Create Report for Technical Support?
I was only able to create the report on my development/deployment PC (see output files attached). MAX crashes when I try to run it on the target PC. Probably because everything was uninstalled prior to installation, and the deployment installation fails halfway through with the math error.
Thanks and let me know what you find.

Hi:
I uninstalled the new deployment, installed the old deployment, uninstalled again, and then tried installing the new deployment. I still get the math library error. But this time I'm able to continue and things seem to be running. Could this be a non-critical error if I'm not using the sequence editor? I copied over the MAX program files manually and was able to create a report for the target PC. See attached.
Thanks,
Dave

I confirmed the error occurs on a second target PC. I also tried creating a .tsd file from scratch and I still get the error.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Unfortunately, I was unable to replicate the problem after configuring multiple setups. Would you please post the TestStand Deployment file (*.tsd) configured on the Deployment Machine.
Thanks and do pardon the inconvenience.

Hi Dave,
I failed to ask an additional question Dave. Please reply to these two questions.
Thanks

Hi Dave,
Another concern we have is the order of NI software installation. For example, on the deployment machine did you install LabVIEW 6.1 before or after TestStand 4.0.1? We would like to know the order of CVI 8.0.1 (Full or Base Edition), LabVIEW 6.1, TestStand 4.0.1 and device drivers.
Thank you
