Hi Josh,

Hi have an additional question to the closed thread:

http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=330&thread.id=22947

If i am getting approved, will i receive the new features to TS 4.2?

Greetings

Excuse me for saying so but isn't that a silly question If you apply and are approved for the beta, you will get the beta version of whatever the new release is intended to be. If there were no new features or bug fixes in the planned release, why woud there be a new version planned?

Hi Dennis,

i disagree but  you have written also the answer to my question. "..why woud there be a new version planned"

Yes of course there are new features! and most of beta features will be in offical release.

As you i am not a "blue one" and working not for NI. I have no time to test software for NI. I am using NI Software

and Hardware. Let me say NI is releasing twice a year. I if you like to be always on lastest versions on the productions

field you can create a new job. So this is impossible. So i am waiting some releases before updating. (I know some
Ni-Alliance Partners do exactly the same!)

I was dealing to update from TS 4.0 to TS4.1.1 but know i am hearing that there is TS4.2

And what is stuipd to inform about new features that might be interersting for us and it might

be better to wait for TS4.2. That means i can save money for the production field and thats my job.

Hi Guys,

maybe this is a misunderstanding - if I understand Juergen correctly, he just wants to know what the new features are in 4.2. before he is doing all the work updating the machines to 4.1.1.

Are you looking for a kind of change history / version history? That would definitely of interest.

Hi gedi,

You are right. Seems my question was not "well formed"

OK lets try it again.

I am approved, is there a ReleaseNotes.txt which i can view BEFORE installing the beta TS

Greetings

Once you are approved, you can ask all the questions you want about the beta in the beta board. Since multiple versions of TestStand can peacefully coexist on the same development pc, you could just go ahead and install it.

It certainly would be nice to have access to a NI Products roadmap.   See the entry on John Pasquarette's blog.

Once you are approved for the beta program, there is a pdf Beta Overview document that lists all of the new features of the TestStand beta.
