Hi,
I have been using TestStand 2012 for a while now, and just recently installed 2014. I kicked the tires on 2014 and it looks good, but I wanted to launch 2012 again to look at some stuff that is linked to that install. I tried to use the version selector to go back to 2012 but when I try to launch it I get an error (attached). I actually still have 2010 installed as well ( forogtten about it), and tried to launch that after selecting that version and it launches fine. select 2014 again and that launches fine. But I can't get 2012 to open anymore. Any thoughts?

Hi christopherdean,
Out of curosity, do all three versions of TestStand (2010, 2012, and 2014) show as properly activated (i.e. a solid green square) in your NI License Manager?
How Can I Check Which Versions of NI Software are Installed and Activated?: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019MAtSAM&l=en-US

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
The license is managed by my company, so the license shouldn't be an issue as long as I'm on the network. All three version show the same half green triangle (7 days remaining..) but I can launch activated versions of 2010 and 2014 just fine.
Sorry for very long delay in response, I was at a conference last week.

I tried to add a seqedit.exe.config as described here https://www.ni.com/docs/en-US/bundle/teststand/page/managing-versions-of-net-to-use-with-teststan.ht... but that did not seem to help

Hi christopherdean,
Interesting that this is occurring only after installing TestStand 2014. Have you tried performing a repair install of TestStand 2012? The link below walks through how to do this.
How Do I Uninstall or Repair National Instruments Software?: https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/18/uninstall-or-repair-national-instruments...

Tom,
I worked though the issue with my company's support. I am now able to launch 2012 and 2014. I noticed in 2012 that I could remove the Cfg folder from C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\TestStand 2012\Cfg, and TestStand 2012 would launch ok. Slowly adding my original files back to the Cfg folder TestStand created to replace what I removed, I noticed TestExec.ini was the problem. I still do not know why, but at least I can open the program again. TS2014 has been repaired sucessfully with help my the support team.
Thanks for the help.
Chris
