Adjusting a PXI-4072 from an in tolerance to out of tolerance condition because it goes through an ITA

I have calibrated numerous PXI cards using Cal EXE. I started getting these units that are built around a PXI chassis and uses a few NI cards the one I'm asking about is the PXI-4072. Through the ITA at 10 ohms it reads 14 ohms. If I bypass the ITA and go directly into the dmm front terminals it reads nominal. This unit is just being put into service. So I checked a few of the older ones in service. Same thing except to the front terminals it reads 5.7 ohms and through the ITA it reads nominal. If I remember correctly we generally wont adjust these to read bad when they already read good and no offset function is apparently being used. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems like that is going to hurt the unit in the end more by adjusting it into tolerance so it works through an ITA?
